Is Larry Craig Psychotic, or What?

I must admit I was, like most people   looking forward to Sen. Larry Craig’s resignation.  But I was doomed to disappointment.  Somehow or another, Sen.  Craig  managed to disappoint (and surprise) not only myself, but the bulk of his Idaho constituency.    You'd think being caught in a bathroom sex-encounter by an undercover cop in an airport men's room would be poison in Idaho.  It is, but Larry Craig doesn't care.

He's announced he will not resign his Senate seat after all.  This, after saying he would resign if his appeal from the Minnesota disorderly conduct conviction was denied. It was and he's still in the Senate.

Which is  unfortunate, but what can you expect from someone who has lived a lie or series of lies  as to his own sexual preferences. What's with this guy?  The man has lost all his power in the Senate having been stripped of the various committee positions he held. He can do little for the State of Idaho, yet he's determined  to hold on to his seat for the next fifteen months.

Craig  decided to stay after all, and "clear his name".

Clear his name.  Uh huh.   Before the Ethics Committee.

Right.

You have to ask yourself the question, is Craig  operating on all eight cylinders?  Has he any sense at all? How the hell  will his name and reputation  be "cleared"  in a Senate  hearing.   If anything, his name and reputation will be dragged through the mud yet again.   If the matter goes to a public hearing, all Craig will accomplish will be  the creation of a breach  into which every  talk show host and standup comedian will eagerly  jump into.

The man simply refuses to admit that he's either gay or bi, but an open hearing will subject Craig to a battery of witnesses,  former sex partners and the Minnesota cop who will testify as to Craig's sexual preferences.

So much for clearing his name.

Then again there's the very real problem as to how Craig can interact with the male members of the Senate and their male staffs.

Just Imagine:

Just imagine the embarrassment male Senators and their staffs are going to have to put up with now that Sen. Craig has decided to stay on.  I mean, day after day, now, for the next 15 months or so, they have to face up to  the difficulty of :

(1) Using the rest room facilities for  legitimate purposes while,

(2) having to face  the possibility of running into  Sen. Craig who,

(3) might or might not be using the men's room  for legitimate purposes.

Looks to me like Sen. Craig will be the first US Senator expelled from the Senate for embarrassing his colleagues.
